I’ve ran a Deere 456 without knives making 4x5 dry hay with a 6310. Didn’t feel that I was short on power, can’t say how much knives would have changed that. I know of someone that runs a Claas 46, 4x4 steel roll baler without knives with a 5075E. It does it, but could be bigger especially in hills. Really lugs it down when nearing a full bale and stop and resume forward travel.
