First rule of precision:
Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER update before planting unless you HAVE TO.
If it worked last year, it will work again this year.
I've been burned, never again.
Updates are usually a good thing, but my rule is, No updates when you're less than a week from starting. I was reminded of that when a mid-season update came last year and the new features looked really tempting but it screwed up my combine monitor. I spent a day trying to factory reset and get all my data back while driving by hand. If I had followed my rule and this happened in the shop, it wouldn't have been as big a deal.
