Your ground is most likely faulty.
If blinkers blink out of time front to rear on a connected trailer or implement, it usually means it's grounding through other lights due to a faulty ground.
From a factory red is never a ground as far as I've ever seen. Possibly the black is ground, usually a white is ground.
