Subject: ~70% of the urea applied in the US is produced in the US



With the exception of potash, most of the fertilizer applied in the US is produced in the US.

For example, ~70% of the urea used in the US is produced in the US.

The attached table shows total production in the US as well as imports and exports for major fertilizer products in 2022.

The source of the table is a USDA publication titled "Drivers of Fertilizer Markets: Supply, Demand, and Prices" which can be downloaded:
