I am certainly not an expert, but I have done what you're trying to do successfully a few years.

When you record your boundary, you have to tell it if you want to record the boundary on the left or right edge of the vehicle or in the center. So, if you have it set to right or left, then it's going to record the edge of the boundary on "edge" of whatever implement you have selected. I use *center*, but I also have use a Honda 4wheeler, which is small and narrow and i can drive it so the center of the machine is exactly where I want the boundary. Be sure to put your boundary far enough away from the edge of the field so that the widest part of your implement clears any obstacles (power poles, etc). Many planters have markers/toolbars that hang out wider than the actual planting width of the machine.

If you're using a tractor or some kind of wide vehicle that you can't run the center of the vehicle exactly where you want the boundary, then you have to use the left or right edge recording point function. So, for example, if your side by side is 6 ft wide and the GPS is on the centerline of the vehicle, but you drive the boundary with the left tire where you want to record the boundary, then you need to make an implement that is 6 ft wide and tell it that the recording point is on the left. ....or, you could just physically move the GPS antenna to the side of the vehicle and tell it to record "center"....then, it will put the boundary exactly where the GPS antenna is mounted.

Look at this youtube video for a good explanation of boundaries https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrs4pN_AXGU It

Also, in your planter implement setup, make sure that you have the working width and the implement width set correctly.
