| I have some yearlings on wheat pasture. There’s 2 troughs on the place less than 1/4 mile apart. Well runs on timers so I kinda need both troughs on hot days for sure.
The cows have been mostly using just one, sometimes avoiding the second like the plague. Some days they suck one dry and leave the other full and act thirsty waiting for the timer to kick it on. Yesterday I went to check water and there was a big trampled rattlesnake by the trough they don’t like and a wad of cows that came when they saw me but wouldn’t come right over. I sent a friend a snap of trampled snake and he was like dude there was another 20 foot from you in the video.
Anyways wondering if snakes under the tub make the cows not like it? | |
