Poor splice or connector. You'll need a wiring diagram to see where the factory ones are at. As you said, it has a gooseneck connector too, so it likely has at least one non-factory splice somewhere. Having someone monitor the power at the connector while someone else wiggles the wiring harness will probably get you in the area of the problem
