Garbo don’t worry about making margin calls. No one knows what the top of the market is going to be. If you did you wouldn’t have to feed any cattle just trade paper. I’m at least 80% hedged all the time. When a load of calves is close to 200K the downside risk is high. I have sold cattle several times years ago that didn’t bring back the original cost. Not doing that again. You’re right about keeping the farm financially sound for the next generation. Good luck to everyone farming this year and Happy Easter
