I tried it with an uncle that wanted to own Cows, started at 50/50 bled for three years. Told him we needed to end it or go to 75/25, he wasn't as happy with the split but stayed the course at that time... worked ok for us, todays costs not sure !
Yea 50/50 may work for some on crop shares but the hard truth with cattle is say you have 80 acre farm you're going to put in a few hundred hours of labor checking/moving cows, feeding hay, fixing fences, etc. On rowcrop if no-tilling and having custom spray/fert. you're going to spend at best maybe 2 days total on the place. |
