You lay it out there and tell it how it is. Like an open book.
Several on here don't have the balls to post their real name and location while you post all that along with actual numbers and real $$$ at stake!!! That is to be commended! Others can learn from you and see the real life down side to a hedge. Many experienced that in 2012 with the run away grain markets.
You are not part of the problem.

I've been more scared to market or forward sell a crop because of the fear of the 1999 drought and again in the 2012 drought and what could happen if the bushels weren't there. Probably left a lot of money on the table because of fear, but getting in a position to market most of last years crop in the following year after it is harvested has worked for me over the long haul. If packer contracts have been working for you then packer contracts it is!
