My bad for not fully explaining. The engine runs a generator that then runs four submersible pumps for water and also generates electricity to run the pivot. The only load on the engine is the direct connection to the gen set. I was thinking of putting in a transmission that would allow the drive shaft to spin faster at lower engine RPMs


Yeah that setup is way different than what we deal with. Hard to believe it takes 4 wells for one pivot. We are blessed with a good aquifer.
