Southeast Washington | Most everyone here run diesels and don't have near the problems with them as you read on here. They have been trouble free. The weak point on the older had engines was the transmissions and torque converters going out from constant shifting in the hills. Now the gas engine transmissions have been updated to better design I think but the diesels have all been trouble free for us. The problems with the 16 and older so far for us has only been the Def heater and tank and have been covered under warranty and never had legible again. Otherwise only regular maintenance and they just keep going far better than the last 2010 gas pickup that was the transmission, not the engine.
Even the wives drive lifted Ford one ton diesels only as grocery getters and love them. Just a myth that they have to pull a heavy load all the time. They do need to travel a distance once in awhile though too make sure a regeneration can be done.
Most farmer's here have bulk diesel storage which is cheaper than the price of gas at the pump since gas doesn't store for long. Makes diesel the better option for this area. | |
