Linseed oil will make a trailer deck last a very long time, thats what the army uses on flatbeds and they aren't a bit slick. Dad has a stock trailer bought new in the mid 90s with an excellent original floor and crossmembers BUT he dumped used motor oil on it obsessively for years. So that definitely works as a preservative, but you have to use a lot of sand on the floor to keep cattle on their feet.
