Pittsburg, Kansas | My nephews finished planting corn by the end of March here. We usually start in mid to the latter part of March here and try to finish by the tenth of April, but a dry winter made it so they could finish in March this year. Ponds are as low as I have ever seen them for lack of runoff. They told me they had just enough showers so the ground worked and planted good but not enough rain to ever get any significant runoff to fill the ponds.
Corn is up in the field just SW of my house. Has been really warm.
