| My wife had severe cough for 3 or 4 years before she got an appointment at Mayo's.
We sent all her records before the appointment.
Appointment was at 10:30 , she had a CT scan of her lungs. Dr said come back at 1:30. The diagnosis was Bronchiectasis. She was to use a nebulizer 3 time's a day.
None of the local doctors had heard of Bronchiectasis.
The Paul Harvey " The rest of the story".
Our first grandchild was born the day of her Mayo appointment. The Dr wanted to do a biopsy to see if it was caused by a fungus or bacteria, but couldn't schedule until the next day. She had to see the baby as soon as possible, so didn't stay for biopsy.
A couple of years later she had a UTI and the Dr prescribed a sulfa drug and her cough pretty much went away.
