I have been dealing with this same chronic cough for 3 or 4 years now. Originally they thought allergies but not the correct diagnosis. Doc then moved to gastric reflux which was correct but it took so long to get the correct diagnosis that my reflux/cough had evolved into Barret's Esophagus. I had a scope done to make the initial determination and have a scope yearly. My symptoms now are the cough that for some reason really bothers when I want to talk on the phone. If I get a call I will feel the urge to cough and apologize to the person on the other end of the line. If I am making a call or I guess need to have a conversation with someone I will pop a cough drop in my mouth which really helps. I have the reflux under control with medication but still need the yearly scope to be sure nothing has changed. |
