I keep seeing a lot of facebook “news” from regional media outlets about farm stories that aren’t really anything more than everyday occurrences.
Farmer turns down low ball offer to sell to data center. Saw this one at least ten times in the last month.
Someone uses their neighbors cattle and equipment as collateral. Saw this one a couple times now.
Everyone hates data and solar and wind turbines.
Farmer commits crop insurance fraud.
Farmer over estimates assets value on loan application.
Farm inputs are too high.
One that I found interesting is where a data center property tax increase has paid off the school district bond and lowered property taxes for the district. They haven’t even started building the data center yet.
Crickets from the public and social media on that one.
Maybe I’m just annoyed and noticing more lately.
you are just doing what their good customers do, getting drawn into the engagement algorithms and creating data they can use for marketing to all those regional outlets looking to grow their visibility and engagement, even if you never click to open any of it, the pause in the scrolling adds value the longer you stay paused. If consumers were smart, they'd charge meta a hourly rate for their scroll time. |
