Pittsburg, Kansas | I had regular metal put on our 1900-1902 barn several years back. Single sheets the full length of roof. This was over old tin that was over wood shakes. They used new nailers over the old roofing and had to do some pretty creative shimming and tapering to get the roof level enough for the new metal.
I was happy with the job they did. Did some foundation work and other stuff.
The old barn should have had a trackhoe taken to it and demolished. But I and my older brothers and sisters grew up there all of us putting hay up and playing in the loft. It would have broken their hearts to see it taken down. Initials in the walls of various relatives. So I spent a good many thousand dollars to put it back in reasonable shape for a building that has almost zero remaining function. I will be the last one to ever care anything about it.
Such is life. Was once my great grandpa's dream. They had bought the place in 1870.
