Other than a deficiency there is zero correlation between a soil test and yield.
There is zero direct correlation between a fertilizer application and crop response

P1 is a measure of soil function not a gas gauge or recommendation of how much to buy.

There is no science behind crop removal rate fertilizer program outside of deficiency.

Most universities have a P level recommendations

The big question is have you had P deficiency? Have you done tissue tests throughout a season? You have to do your own baseline testing for your farm. 20 might be amazing for the other guy for you it could be a failure....

We can look at a Haney test and see compared to a standard test we have a lot of plant available P.

I like Dwayne Becks example. 30 years of a P1bray at 5. Applied no P for them 3 decades, P1 ia still at 5 and plants have been good.

Myself, have a field over a decade of little to none P applied. P1 is still above U of M recommendation when to start applying. So following university guidelines I will go another year of no P applied.
