| Unfortunately this has been going on for a long time now regardless of which side is in power. The failure to fix it is caused by the public, not the people in power. The actions of those in power can be explained by human behaviour. There won’t be one of us here that haven’t been in some sort of situation where we chose to benefit through “insider” knowledge in our own lives. None of us openly display every business move we plan to make sure we don’t have an advantage over others.
The basic psychology behind that doesn’t change whether it is a dollar or millions of dollars. We are judging others for making millions of dollars when we ourselves chose those same basic techniques when much smaller dollar values are at play. We caved to those same human natures with even less to gain. We are no better.
Another aspect at play is a bit of a psyop. Society is prone and encouraged to pick sides based on politics instead of morals. We are all biased and tend to overlook what our own political side is doing. When the next side get in power we chose to be very offended by it. It is a rinse and repeat cycle. We convince ourselves that we are driven by morals until it is our side doing it then we tend to make excuses.
The two sides should be drawn between the morally correct and the immoral side. That is not how society is divided. The majority of people on both sides are against immoral behaviour. Those in power know that and they know they need to keep the moral majority divided so they promote methods of division to keep people picking political parties instead of teams based on morals.
Whoever here wants to claim what I said is wrong is going to have to prove they aren’t biased. Good luck. Because we all are biased.
