There are a number of agronomic benefits to a Wheat-Corn-Beans rotation in some geographic areas. Universities were really encouraging a W-C-B rotation a few years ago.

Seems like wheat doesn't have the government program backing of corn and beans. Wouldn't be surprised if that is the main driving force pushing corn and beans over wheat. It certainly is around here pushing corn and beans rather than pasture or hay.

Hard not to go with less risk and more profit.
