Quite a few young people that bought land in 79-83 regretted it and are no longer farming. Not as many but still a substantial amount that paid $10,000+ around my area in 2012-2013 regretted it as well by 2015 when land values dropped by 30+%. Farms were being sold to pay off short term debt so the operating loan could be renewed.
