NW Washington | This recipe for a skunk stink wash for dogs has been around for quite a while.
"To remove skunk odor, mix 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and 1-2 teaspoons of liquid dish soap (e.g., Dawn). Apply to the dog's dry fur, massage in, leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary, avoiding the eyes and mouth.

Key Tips:
Do not pre-wet: Apply the mixture directly to dry fur to best break down the oils.
Use Freshly Mixed: Only mix this solution right before using, as it becomes unstable if stored.
Warning: Hydrogen peroxide can bleach dark fur if left on for too long.
Safety: Wear rubber gloves and ensure the area is well-ventilated. "
