Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | The problem of not getting it into moisture is if it lays in drys ground, insects can eat on the seed. If it rains some, it can germinate the seed then dry out and die. Or, some seed may germinate and grow and others will wait and you can have corn in two stages which isn’t good either.
It’s crazy your plant dates are that early. I guess they want you to get ahead of hot weather later in the summer.
Can you or do you want to take prevent plant?
Looking like we might be facing the same situation if things don’t change within a month. The ground is so hard and dry here no one will be able to plant.
