North Central Indiana | Only thing I can figure is they understand the US military is far superior to anything else in the world. We could stop them. What we’ve seen mission wise the last 12 months has been child’s play compared to what the real active war capabilities are. Sending bombers across the globe with no one, including our allies, knowing last summer changed things. It’s not theoretical anymore, and it’s not bragging, it’s real and active every single day. Swooping into Venezuela was the same. The world has come to know that if you do not at least play a little ball with the USA we are not only able to but willing to come and destroy you or capture you without any knowledge or warning of us coming. Right or wrong ethically, that’s the reality. This mess in Iran is pointless from a “change” standpoint. We’ll never commit to destroying them because the loss of innocent lives would be too great to bear. It’s all posturing with the intent of keeping things relatively in order to our liking. But do not be confused, we could make Iran a black hole on the map in hours if we decided to without using nuclear weapons. Heck we could deploy the sonic weapons used in Venezuela and render the entire population helpless and unable to move in Iran. Thats why China hasn’t done anything on Taiwan. Think they’re hurting from this current minor scuffle in Iran? Imagine they attack Taiwan and we cripple every one of their allies that provide them energy, food, and water.
Guess I’m just not overly concerned. We are a war machine, like it or not that’s the case. There will be one off attacks against the US bases and whatnot. But when the threat of a special forces group swooping into your house as a foreign leader, killing you and taking your wife and kids in the middle of the night to some government hell hole blacksite exists we probably don’t have too much to worry about. Again, I’m not arguing it’s ethical, but it’s reality. In reality the world needs us, we aren’t good by any stretch. But we’re controlled and we keep the other bad people at bay. Like the famous speech from a general “if you want war with the United States someone else will raise your sons and daughters”
I’ve got a friend who moved back to China 4 years ago. We talked last week and he laughed at the situation. He said the Chinese tech that is getting destroyed in Iran was touted as being the best in the world. It’s been a training exercise for the US. If the Chinese people know it, their government certainly does
