Pure alcohol burns basically invisible. I can't remember if it was an Indy car or something else, but you can find a video of a race, being commentated on, on a major network, and you'll see the driver jump out and the pit crew also start running and jumping around, rolling around and people chasing after them with extinguishers. The commentator mentions how the ethanol/alcohol fuel burns basically clear so you can't see the fire on you or the one you are fighting. |
