Part of the problem with the Jones act is that the ships are supposed to be U.S. built AND U.S. crewed, which makes it hard to meet for some routes, especially routes that aren't routine. The Jones act probably needs to be revisited, but repealing it seems kind of, I dunno, hypocritical?
