I don’t think the jones act would help or hurt the importation of Brazillian corn to the SE would it? It’s coming from non U.S. sources so it can be a foreign ship???? Am I missing something?



The SE could source corn from the Midwest via the Mississippi if not for the jones act.

Ask yourself, why is it cheaper to get from São Paulo to Wilmington than from Myrtle Grove to Wilmington? Even after the Midwest farmer overcome/overcompensate the protected shipping cartels on the Mississippi, you still have to deal with the same disadvantage on ocean freight, if that option even existed anymore. Brazilian farmers win.

Any US farmer that thinks the Jones Act is a good idea is an idiot.






What about patriotic Americans that support our own industries ?

They idiots also ?

I’ve found that folks who throw the idiot tag around benefit by looking in the mirror.
