Actually, I don't think we need 'more' regulation. We already have laws that are not being enforced involving the packers.

I think of it kind of like the immigration problem. Ignore enforcing the laws on the books, and when lawlessness abounds, claim we need a whole bunch of new laws (that may or may not be enforced). The Packers and Stockyards act has been violated for DECADES, yet the answer is always a bunch of new laws that will just complicate things more, and likely cause new problems, without really solving the old problems.

Instead, start with enforcing the laws we have, see how that works, and go from there. With the packers, I fear it may be getting to late for that though. They have so much consolidation of power that it will be awfully tough to fix.
