Latimer Iowa
What are the goals of the pre sprayed onto a green cover crop? When we seeded covers with a plane we had to use a pre because the rye stand was too sporadic. Since we have went to using an air seeder to plant the rye cover in the fall we have taken out the pre on beans if there is a good rye stand. Does the pre really do anything if its just contacting the green cereal rye plants?

We are just using a roundup burndown at 24 oz per acre to kill the cereal rye relatively slowly and coming back with enlist, roundup, and dual post about June 1 figuring the burndown and planting was about May 5. Sometimes, if needed, will do a 2nd post pass with liberty before canopy.
