I`m not as involved as I used to be, but isn`t this kind of a rare time when "packers aren`t a big part of the problem"? Packers seem to be "losing money" (according to them) cattle feeders, cow/calf guys & gals have new Stetsons . But seems to me we were better off in the olden days when medium size packers butchered cattle, hogs and sheep.
No, the packers are still a problem as price they're paying isn't making sense for the price the consumers are paying, and so the rancher is taking all the blame for prices even though we have no control over it. |
