Not saying it will work for everyone but got in a bind because of weather couple years ago... We put down a strip with couple inches of Lime and then piled fertilizer on top... Then we covered fertilizer with a couple inches of lime and packed it smooth with a with a skidloader so basicly a triangle strip... Had good drainage of both sides ect... Lime crusted over and it survived all winter and into spring... Then we just picked it all up with loader and spread... Fertilizer looked completely unharmed under the Lime... This was a N P K mix of fertilizer... Wouldn't be scared to try it agian if needed...
