Use of AI by itself allows for animals with bad structure to continue to proliferate.     The male doesn't have to mount the female and the female doesn't have to hold the weight of the male.


I blame most of the feet and leg problems we have in the hog industry to the widespread use of AI.

Boars and sows with bad structure didn't last long 40+ years ago when they were outside in the elements and had to breed naturally in a pen full of other animals.
