If it was here, 2” on clay and 2.5” in silt. Have them peeping through around end of April. Deeper will help handle temperature swings better.
In the replant capital, I’d be deeper than 1.5.
This time of year you are less likely to get pounding rains that seal off and cause seed come to go anaerobic.
You know your soils better than me.
