Put an application in for two more parcels, and helped a landlord with one. The gal at the FSA office said the number of new applications and re-enrollments have been “very high”, her words, she has been there a few years.
Also an Iowa DNR private lands specialist stopped by today who is promoting long term conservation easements, says there has been an influx of money. Says there is a new schedule for payments that is significantly higher than the past.

Jawohl! Herr Comrade!
Iowa and CRP do not go together, ever.
Put livestock on it and actually make money and do something. CRP needs to go due to all the abuse it takes. I have yet to see land that should be in CRP in CRP, its always the good farmland in CRP. |
