Subject: Another question about how the markets used to be

The thread below about markets on the radio at noon, where you as a kid knew you didn’t make a peep got me wondering about something else.

Did any of you actually physically deliver your commodity when selling on the board?

I was somewhat familiar with designated delivery points for hogs. Never did myself. What about cattle, corn or beans…..anyone do this?

There’s a wealth of knowledge and experience here, which I respect but for the guys that don’t know what I’m talking about…..no, you didn’t take your commodity to Chicago and dump on the CBOT floor. There were rules of time and where, probably still a little basis discount?
