Floyd County, Iowa
Mayhem - 3/15/2026 13:03

Some of the coop locations with grain handling facilities have been closed down around here. I can see that trend continuing as most corn now goes to the ethanol plants and beans to the crusher. Small operations without access to a truck will find it more and more difficult to deliver grain with a tractor and wagons.

If it's the same co-op that is over here and has merged several times, it'll be a wonder if they keep any of them open. They are closing them down over here or making them "dump by appointment only". These same locations were booming businesses in the small towns, and then when 3 coops merged, everything started imploding. They've chased away most of the customers. The last of the three problem managers, and the worst one, finally retired a couple years ago, but should have been fired right away.
