Western Oregon | We built a good sense home in 1992. Good sense home was all electric. Power company paid for the heat pump and an electronic filter in the furnace. Furnace also had a regular paper filter and a heat strip. The return air came from the ceiling in the hallway. Conditioned air returned through floor vents. Also incorporated in the system was a thermostat that worked with the bathroom exhaust fan that used that air to feed into the return when they were turned on. They also had a timer that ran for 1 hour. The thermostat also ran twice a day, since we both worked outside the home, those 2 times were set around 11am and 3 pm. Those systems are still working flawlessly without any outside maintenance. The whole family had allergies, mine was dust and pollen. During those times we could keep all the windows closed but still have fresh air. Very little dust and pollen inside....James
