"Extended warranty" is an insurance policy and not an OEM warranty.  Tons of companies sell them. Dealers make a heavy profit on them so be ready to shop and negotiate if you're going to get one. Make sure you understand the coverages as to what is and isn't covered, maximum payout, and how any deductibles work.
