Northwest Iowa | Not sure where your located but does fertilizer price dictate the sale of grain that much for your operation? As you get west of myself I know it defiantly influences acres much more than I’m use to. Around here I just never hear that stance of dictating grain sales off of fertilizer pricing.
I’m a forward seller, sold some Dec 27 HTA’s at 4.81 last week on a farm farther away from us that all goes to town. Took way less last fall so thought it was a good start that crop year. I like rolling and using the bins like you do also. I shoot for 5-5.20 hta into the bin. .25-.40 off for basis to get to cash prices has worked for us. | |
