Subject: RE: NCAA basketball question

Cleveland, MS. Own small farm near Booneville, MS

Ron (Cen. IL.) - 3/15/2026 18:44 I used to be able to call a "travel" at the same time as the referee Now, if I had to take a drink every time I said: "O, he travelled", I wouldn't be watching the game for very long. "Palming" or "carrying" is gotten to be terrible too, really gives the offensive player an advantage.

"Palming" - yes. Even at the high school level the way players dribble today would have gotten me a turnover and a ride on the bench. No part of the player's hand is to ever touch the bottom half of the basketball when dribbling. They do it just walking the ball down the court under no pressure. None of the coaches seem to teach fundamentals anymore. Lot's of high school varsity player I see cannot shoot a left handed layup and, on many teams I see, if someone plays defense it's accidentally.
