| The constant "Chicken Little" warnings have most rational people ignoring them. We used to live on a short 1 mile paved road, Hwy K, that ended in a small (pop 68) town, Excelsior. A TORNADO ON THE GROUND, on Hwy K in Excelsior. I was out on the porch watching the storm , was raining, but not windy enough to get me wet standing out there. There was no tornado, not even windy enough to put branched on the ground, we drove all the back roads looking for storm damage, a few places had small branches down, other than that NOTHING.
Also they installed a tornado siren exactly 1 mile from our house, even on a calm day of testing, you couldn't hear it inside. You'd NEVER hear it in a storm , maybe 4-5 houses might have been close enough to hear it. |
