Wisconsin | If it's not building pressure to shut off, even with the output valve completely closed off, then it's defective. The pressure tank should take a couple minutes or so to fill from 20 to 40psi. The rotation being wrong would do it as mentioned. Foreign matter in the impeller would maybe contribute to lower pressure, definitely lower volume. If it's a convertible jet pump, that could be missing or set up wrong for this application.
I don't know what the fascination with variable speed pumps is for this. There are plenty of quality pumps that will last just fine like this, though variable speed would work also, just not needed, and not the issue here. | |
