If I took my older used equipment and agreed to sell it to a younger farmer on good terms, the business will not support the payments.
Something is really wrong in this business of production ag. I think both things should be true, the young guy should be able to buy in when allowed fantastic terms by an established farmer and the established guy should be massively cashing in if he can run paid for stuff.
At no time over the past 40-50 years has a fleet of paid for equipment not been able to turn a profit granted land costs, etc factor in. Guys keep blaming crop insurance…in this area crop insurance doesn’t work.
I really wonder what restructuring this looks like…the input price is non sustainable. | |
