One tidbit I caught in the story was how grain production increased when farmers transitioned from horse power to tractors. The horse needed 2.5 acres to feed it (Grow your own fuel) and when the tractor came along those 2.5 acres went into production thus putting more grain on the market and pushing prices down. I thought they said at the peak there was over 2 million horses used.
