South Central NE
Thanks for posting Dale. You have way more experience in the fire situation than most of us since you have actually been through one. I added the Watch Duty App to my phone which updates the various fires every 3 or 4 hours. According to the App the total state fire area has increased to around 700000 acres. Morrill and Cottonwood are so big that it's going to be hard without a weather change to get them under control. Kearney, which is quite a ways away from the fires already has 35 mph winds. According to radar the two fires farther north may get some snow which might be helpful. There was another fire that broke out south of Valentine along Hwy 83 but they are saying it's under control.
And yesterday 3-14 was the anniversary of the terrible flooding and destruction that took place in the northeast part of NE in 2019. Have a son in West Point who went through that one.
