I heard sale barn bulls were bringing $5 to 6000 today. So you can spend a chunk and take a chance on an unknown bull at a sale barn, OR spend a little more and buy a bull from someone you know.
Didn't they use to say a bull should cost 3 to 5 calves. In today's market at $2500/calf that would be $7500 to 12500. So these bulls were in line price wise with a historical measure of a bulls worth.
Years ago I heard someone say if you are going to work with and be around animals every day you might as well like what you are looking at and working with.
Some people golf for a hobby. Some people pull tractors. Some like new toys or boats.
I like buying the best bulls that I can afford.
It's a bad habit. So I guess the Kool aid tastes pretty darn good!!! |
