We jumped from a 6 row to a 12 row for that reason: Amity used the same scrub tower on the 6 and 8 row lifter. We have a neighbor that went with a 8 row and put a alloway scrub tower on it to increase capacity. Last winter we spent some time and invented a hydraulic pressure monitor for the scrub towers that alarms when the pressure gets to the point where the tower will plug. It sped our harvest up this fall as we were always running the machine at max capacity.
It's never any fun plugging a lifter! I do miss making the mud man snowmen from the amity lifter but the Artsway ferris wheel sure is nicer on the 12 row. It sucks hand bombing it out when the lifter operator plugs it though.
