As others noted, check for buds but if you get a good freeze it will likely run again when it warms.

First run makes best syrup but have some fun and tap your 2 trees.
If trees are big enough you can put 2 taps in each one.

Hard maple will get a richer sap, more sugar, than soft maples so a little less boiling.

Have fun in most cases you can buy it cheaper than doing it yourself if you figure all costs and time but we still tap about 130-140 trees every couple years just for family use and to give a little away.
