Eastern NE KS | Sorry for this problem. It is very rare but she choked on the after birth. I have not witnessed this problem on my farm but a friend experienced this problem about 30 years ago and told me about it.
I was cautious with afterbirth for several years after learning about the issue. Today, I ignore my females tendency to eat the placenta in the hope that it is concentrated nutrition.
